Call for Proposals
We welcome and encourage proposals for post conference workshops (on August 11th) aligned with the interests of the ICER community. Proposals should be 300-500 words and include:
- Title
- Organizers
- Description of activities
- Intended audience and eligibility, including rationale
- If there is an upper limit on attendees, your selection criteria
- Whether you will allow remote attendees (we do not have a fancy platform, only zoom and Discord)
Workshop organizers will be responsible for making their own arrangements for food. The ICER organizing committee will secure rooms for the selected workshops. (We are running workshops on the 11th, rather than pre-conference on the 7th because the available rooms are already booked for the Doctoral Consortium and Works in Progress events; anyone wishing to run a workshop on the 7th would need to secure their own meeting space).
Proposals are due by March 8 to the ICER chairs via chairs@icer.acm.org. Proposals will be assessed to ensure alignment with the interests of the ICER community as well as to avoid thematically overlapping workshops. Organizers will be notified by March 15. In order to enable participants to take advantage of ICER’s early-registration deadline (June 19th), workshops should plan to notify their participants no later than June 12. The ICER 2023 website will list all workshops by March 22.
